Terms of Service
These terms cover using YouTongue and buying YouTongue Pro. Using the site or the extension means you agree to them.
The service
YouTongue finds moments in public YouTube videos where a word or phrase is spoken, and plays them in an embedded YouTube player. Search, clips and the Chrome extension are free. With an optional account you can keep a library: the words you looked up, grouped by the site you read them on, and folders of saved words.
Your account
- You sign in with Google. Keep that account secure; you are responsible for what happens under it.
- You can delete your account at any time from the library. That erases your history and folders; see the Privacy Policy.
- Do not use the service to scrape the index, overload it, or get around its limits.
YouTongue Pro
- Pro is a subscription billed monthly or yearly, at the price shown on the pricing page and at checkout.
- Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Your purchase is also governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms.
- The subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time under “Manage subscription” in your library; Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refunds are described in our Refund Policy.
- If we change the price, the new price applies from your next renewal, and we tell you before it does.
Videos and captions
Clips are YouTube videos played through YouTube’s own player; they belong to their creators. Rights holders can ask us to remove a video — see Takedown.
No warranty
We work to keep matches accurate, but captions can be wrong and videos can disappear from YouTube. The service is provided “as is”, to the extent the law allows.
